His HES 1003 is still a best-selling electric strike to date. It is a versatile and strong product that enabled the HES Company to get off the ground. It was also the primary product that led to a prosperous relationship with ASSA ABLOY. Inventor, Hanchett Jr., has influenced and impacted the development of other products, which includes the Securitron PowerJump, a product that he believes is the biggest breakthrough in his career. The PowerJump is installed on the latch side of the door or the hinge side, without the use of pins and wires across the door gap, it has eliminated any points of wear, vulnerability and doesn’t need core drilling in the door. Hanchett thinks this product is the perfect device for retrofitting electrified locks into existing openings. He believes that microcontrollers and the process of embedding them will be the next industry, big thing.
